TO THE BESTFRIEND I EVER HAD

Can words express my pain? I doubt!

Now I know that human existence is like a candle flickering in the wind. I mistook your smiles and tears, for tears of joy during your last days on earth, thinking and praying that you will be well and healthy again, but little did I know that the flickering candle was about to be extinguished.

You lived a modern life, worthy of emulation. You taught not by words but by example, which evidence is shown in the type of children you left behind. You were a father in a million, too dear to lose. A man of honor and integrity, strong, hard - working, caring, loving and a kind father to all.

You were the blood of my blood and flesh of my flesh. Your passing away has created a vacuum in my heart which nobody can fill in this world. We lived as one in one on earth, now tell me how can I live without you? You know the thought alone is capable of breaking me down.

Nevertheless, I wish you had stayed a little longer for me to say thanks to you for the fatherly care and love you showed me. Your legacy on earth must never be forgotten. From you Daddy, I learnt to do extraordinary thingd in simple ways thus reducing complexities to simplicity. For me, I have only a basket full of thanks and praises to sing of you for a job well done.

But it pains me most whenever I remember the times you and I shared together, the plans we had and the company we gave to each other. From you I learnt so many things that will see me through in life.

My major regret is that you worked, labored, waited and fought for the best, but you never stayed to enjoy the fruit you started sowing in me.

Nevertheless, I know you are too good and loving to leave this planet but God knows why hour took you away from this sinful and wicked world. Although you have gone to the world beyond, your footsteps will always remain forever to guide me and your footprints of kindness would still live on..

Happy birthday Daddy.. I will always celebrate you like you were still here with me..

Daddy.. I CHOOSE TO SAY YOUR LAST DAYS ON EARTH WAS A CELEBRATION OF LIFE..

Adieu!! Till we meet to part no more.

IRONY OF LIFE

A little girl whose parents had died lived with her grandmother and slept in an upstairs bedroom.
One night there was a fire in the house and the grandmother perished while trying to rescue the child. The fires spread quickly, and the first floor was engulfed in flames. Neighbors called the fire department, then stood helplessly by, unable to enter the house because flames blocked all the entrances. The little girl appeared at an upstairs window, crying for help, just as word spread among the crowd that firefighters would be delayed a few minutes because they were all at another fire.
Suddenly, a man appeared with a ladder, put it up against the side of the house and disappeared inside. When he appeared, he had the little girl in his arms. He delivered the child to the waiting
arms below, then disappeared into the night. An investigation revealed that the child had no living relatives, and weeks later a meeting was held in the town hall to determine who would take the child into their home and bring her up. A teacher said she would raise the child. She pointed out she
could ensure her a good education. A farmer offered her an upbringing on his farm. He pointed out that living on a farm was healthy and satisfying. Others spoke, giving their reasons why it was to the childs advantage to live with them. Finally, the towns richest resident arose and said, I can give
this child all the advantages that you have mentioned here, plus money and everything money can buy.
Throughout all this, the child remained silent, her eyes on the floor. Does anyone else want to speak? asked the meeting chairman. A man came forward from the back of the hall. His gait was slow and he seemed in pain. When he got to the front of the room, he stood directly before the little girl and held out his arms. The crowd gasped. His hand and arms were terribly scarred. The child cried out, This is the man who rescued me! With a leap, she threw her arms around the mans neck, holding on for
dear life, just as she had that fateful night. She buried her face on his shoulder and sobbed for a few moments. Then she looked up and smiled at him.

IF I WERE A CHILD AGAIN

If I were a child again, I would cultivate courage. “Nothing is so mild and gentle as courage, nothing so cruel and pitiless as cowardice,” says a wise author. We too often borrow trouble, and anticipate that may never appear.” The fear of ill exceeds the ill we fear.” Dangers will arise in any career, but presence of mind will often conquer the worst of them. Be prepared for any fate, and there is no harm to be feared. If I were a child again, I would look on the cheerful side. Life is very much like a mirror: if you smile upon it, it smiles back upon you; but if you frown and look doubtful on it, you will get a similar look in return. Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that come in contact with it. “ who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out from love.” If I were a child again, I would school myself to say no more often. I might write pages on the importance of learning very early in life to gain that point where a young child can stand erect, and decline doing an unworthy act cause it is unworthy. If I were a child again, I would demand of myself more courtesy towards my companions and friends, and indeed towards strangers as well. The smallest courtesy along the rough roads of life are like the little birds that sing to us all winter long, and make that season of ice and snow more endurable. Finally, instead of trying hard to be happy, as if that were the sole purpose of life, I would , if I were a child again, I would still try harder to make others happy.
